What would Christmas be without baking gingerbread?

You Will Need:

300 g plain flour

1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

125 g unsalted butter

100 g soft light brown sugar

3 tablespoons golden syrup

Method:

First you need to preheat your oven to 180 degrees and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a glass dish over a pan of boiling water, melt the butter, sugar and golden syrup.

Once melted, add in all of the dry contents.

Mix all the ingredients together until you get a dough like mixture, take half out and roll out flat on top of the parchment paper.

Use the cutters to make shapes out of the gingerbread.

Place in the oven for 12mins or until golden, then remove from the oven and allow to cool.

Decorate however you wish!
